selfWeight in brick elements

Post by ahmetalperparker »

Hi,
Will there be an update in the near future for selfWeight command for brick elements? When using element load as
eleLoad -ele 1 -type -selfWeight
command fails.
Looking at the wiki page, I see that it is only defined for line elements. So will it be available in the very near future?
If not, applying the gravity loads for transient dynamic analysis, what is the best way? using a gravity loading time history analysis with gradual increment in gravity accelerations?
Thanks in advance

If you are using a dense mesh, applying nodal forces will be equivalent to self weight
