Rigid zones in the beam ends

Post by yekose »

Dear All,

Is it possible to model rigid zones at the end of the beam elements like we do in the sap2000 End-length offsets?

I think the best method to simulate rigid zone is using forceBeamColumn element with a fiber section that is much larger than normal section and using a elastic material whose Young's modulus is 100 times larger than normal material

look at the commands for the geometric transformation .. the rigid offsets are input there -jntOffset
