Effective Stress Site Response Example

Post by andrestorres »

Hi,

I'm working for my thesis and I really need to know the outputs from the input file freeEffectiveStree.tcl and I don't know the C++ language. As far as I can understand, for the points 1, 2, 3, 4 and 9 of each element the program give me the stress and the strain. Then, for example, in the stress1.out file, I have sigma_x, sigma_y, sigma_z, tau_xy and tau_xz for each element (I think that's the order). And for the stain1.out file, I have epsilon_x, epsilon_y and epsilon_xy???? If I can fully understand the outputs, I could work with the data in matlab with no problems.

Thanks for the help, and sorry for my bad english, it's not my native language.

PD: Looking at the results shown in the Example, shouldn't the shear stress starts with a higher value due to the geostatic condition? And what are lines shown in the Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, the CSL of each layer of soil??
