Hi,
I would like to know what the columns in the stress and strain output files mean, when doing a 2D analysis (ndm=2, ndf=3).
I only have 3 columns (apart from the 1st which is time). My question is mainly about the last column.
stress: 1st column time, 2nd column sxx, 3rd column syy 4th column sxy or szz? (because if it is szz than I don't have sxy)
strain: the same question regarding the 4th column.
Thank you for your help,

Re: SSPQuadUP
I used the -xml instead of -file extension in the recorder and I confirmed it is sxy. I have another question which is related: In what concerns the pwp output, it comes with two columns for each node (pwpx, pwpy), but I only have one pwp dof (ndf=3). The 2nd column for each node (pwpy) in this case has no meaning?
I am also not sure if the recorded stresses are effective or total stresses, though I think they should be effective because it was how the element was formulated.
Thank you,

Re: SSPQuadUP
Since you are in 2D I would assume the last column is sxy
