Spring Absorb Force More Than Applied (Pushover)

Post by Halim »

Hello friends,
I modeled a cantilever column with two springs at the bottom. One to represent the hinge at the column-end and another to represent effects of the foundation (Fixation).
The column end-spring absorbs (output moment for this element shows) same moment as manually computed, but the other one absorbs moment (output moment for this spring/element) five times larger than computed (Applied force times the distance between, manually computation).

Note: The spring absorb larger moment is rigid-plastic.

If anyone can help to fix this, would be highly appreciated.

I not very a new to OpenSEES nor a Master in it.

why don't you post a simple model with an elastic column that demonstrates what the problem is.
