VPDependent friction model

Post by scottswensen »

I'm modeling some PTFE slider bearings and working with some of the friction models built into OpenSees. There is a friction model for velocity and pressure dependent friction (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... t_Friction) that I'd like to try out . I'm not sure what some of the input constants mean though. There doesn't seem to be much documentation on this model (no paper cited). Can anyone point me toward a paper or something that would describe exactly what the input variables are? Thanks.

I've contacted the developer of that friction model. I'll get back to you as soon as I get a response from him.
