about plastic hinges

Post by juanoviedo »

Hello Cathy

There many different criteria when defining the length of the plastic hinge.
Roughly speaking you could use for R/C memebers, a length of height of the section and for steel members half.
And the parameters are commonly used based on Moment-curvature analysis of the section.
