question regarding testing DLL

Hi,

Following steps in http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... L_Creation, I've built the .dll file. I am a little confused in the testing part.

"Now test it,
1. using windows finder, copy the .dll (C:\??\OpenSeesDeveloper\material\ElasticPPCPP\Debug) into the class directory (C:\???\OpenSeesDeveloper\material\)
2. run OpenSees (2.2.0) (C:\??\OpenSeesDeveloper\bin)
3. cd into directory containing example (cd ..\material)
4. source an example script containing your new command, i.e. type: "source example1.tcl"
IT SHOULD RUN THE SCRIPT! .. IF IT FAILS GET MY ATTENTION."

In step 2, do I need to create a new folder with the name of "bin" and then put a "OpenSees.exe" in it?
In step3, I don't know what does "cd into directory" mean. I didn't find a directory called cd.

Shoun't the example file be in the same directory with OpenSees.exe? Looks like they are not. I am confused here about how to run an example testing file. Should the .dll file be in the same directory with OpenSees.exe?

I have the same questions as rainandcm, i don't know how to test de new material, as the bin folder does not exist and so do the compiled project, is it an error in the instructions?

I think there were some mistakes in the old instructions. They had a lot of update recently. If you still need it, check the new instruction. Also maybe check the following link: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... r_own_Code
