Problem in downloading buildingTcl

Post by mdcarpio »

Hi,

I've got Windows 7 in my desktop and cannot download the Tcl/Tk executable from http://downloads.activestate.com/Active ... readed.exe
I got the following message: "Unable to download ...93667-win32-ix86-threaded.exe from downloads.activestate.com. Unable to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."
Could Windows 7 be the problem? I used to be able to download it using Windows XP.

I've had the same issue - Windows 7, 64 bit machine.

I downloaded it directly from this website:
http://www.activestate.com/activetcl/downloads

I changed the install directory as directed (to Program Files), but I still cannot get Opensees to run. Should I download the x86 version and install into Program Files (x86)?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can download the Tcl/Tk executable from http://www.activestate.com/activetcl/downloads.

But still, I cannot get Opensees to run. I get the following message: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Could anyone help me with this?

Problem solved. Download the 32-bit version of Tcl/Tk executable.

Hi mdcarpio

I have a Windows 7, 64 bit machine.
I downloaded "ActiveTcl8.5.12.0.296033-win32-x86_64-threaded"
for my computer which uses Win 7 64-bit.

I run OpenSees.exe but there is an error that says "The application
was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the
application"

Do I need to download the 32-bit version of Tcl/Tk executable ?
I think it will not run with a 64-bit Windows.

Yes, you need 32-bit version of Tcl/Tk and it should work on 64-bit machine.
