how to assign L-K boundary conditions

Post by sreedharrao144 »

sir,
I am working in the area of soil structure interaction problem.I generated soil domain mesh(2D plain strain) in GID interface with quad elements and nodes(2DOF).I got tcl file also.I need to specify Lysimer Kuhlemeyer boundary conditions. Can I give boundary conditions in GID?if I can how? If not in GID,how to specify in OpenSees/Tcl?Kindly help me in this regard with example. Your reply is extremely important for my thesis.

i don't know about how to do ut in GID, in OpenSees it is done using a zeroLength element and a viscous material .. this geo tech example from the user doc page shows how:
