maybe you don't have the administrator priviledges to uninstall .. why don't you look at the properties of the uninstall .exe to see what is up.

My problem has been solved.Maybe you can try this method that delete the file of tcl, remove the redundant registration lists, and then open setup program as the administrator which is very improblem.
Wish you good luck!

Problem of installation

Post by minhle »

Hi all,

Anyone here help me with installation problem please! Something is wrong here, could be my installation, my computer or the instruction on the website.

1. I download both the OpenSees.exe, OpenSeesNavigator.exe, OpenSeesTk2.3.1.exe and ActiveTcl8.5.11.0.295407-win32-x86_64-threaded because tcl/tk 8.5.10 is not there, the link is not found.
2. Then set up Tcl into C:\Programfiles\Tcl like the instruction on http://opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/user/download.php. I use windows 7 and I set the demos folder to C:\Programfiles\Tcl\demos as the default and click next untill finishing the set-up of this file.
3. Still then, I copy OpenSeesTk2.3.1.exe, OpenSeesNavigator.exe, and OpenSees.exe into C:\Programfiles\Tcl\bin
4. Then I run OpenSees.exe but there is an error that says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application"

If you know a proper way to set up, please reply, thanks a lot!

I have the same problem.

I downloaded "ActiveTcl8.5.12.0.296033-win32-x86_64-threaded"
for my computer which uses Win 7 64-bit.

I run OpenSees.exe but there is an error that says "The application
was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the
application"

How can I fix this problem?

Make sure to install 32-bit version of Tcl/Tk.

very simple
I use win7,64 bit & ActiveTcl8.5.14 (26.18MB) +Opensees.exe (14.7MB)
first u need install ActiveTcl in C:\Program Files\Tcl direction
then
u must copy Opensees.exe file to this direction C:\Program Files\Tcl\bin
finish
enjoy it!! :)

u can download two files from this address: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/user/download.php

Hi all,

it doesn't create the directory c:\Program Files\Tcl, although I am the administrator, during the installation.

Does someone know why?

it need to be c:\Program Files\Tcl

did the installation fail or did it install it just not in the correct location. you can find where it did install it by looking for the tclsh executaable (or tcl.h file).
if it faied in the install, make sure you have uninstallled it. is the dircetory still there after unintsall?
