SAP to Opensees model converter

If you have a script you think might be useful to others post it
here. Hopefully we will be able to get the most useful of these incorporated in the manuals.

SAP to Opensees model converter

Post by guidomac »

Hello everybody,
I am new in the forum, so forgive me if I get something wrong.
I wanted to post an Excel macro that converts the excel input database of a SAP2000 model into an Opensees model.
It is a first version and it has obviously some limitations, but it may be useful, it has been to us for comparison.
Anyhow I don't know if it is possible to upload something and how to do it.

you cannot post it here. we can set it up so that you can post it in the wiki and then link to it.

Thank you. I find it simplier to make a link to my Dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/33bx0dyo1rr7yrf/S6V03DxSYO

Here you can find a tablesheet with a macro that converts the excel input and output of SAP2000 in an input file for Opensees.
PLEASE read carefully the Readme file for instructions and limitations of use.
Would love to know what you think about it and look foward for suggestions and upgrades.
