We are collecting some Requirements Data.
Please reply to this post with a list of what you, as an OpenSees COMMUNITY, require of OpenSees.

Thank you,

Hi Silvia and Frank,
I am thinking about removing fiber at a specified time step of dynamic analysis. For example, I want to remove a steel fiber in RC column after strain 0.12 to representing rupture. If removing the fiver is available, I dont need to spend a long time on development of a constitutive model to satisfy this requirement.

It is always good to make OpenSees more flexible since flexibility is its important advantage. I am sure capacity of removing fiber will benefit other researchers for different purposes.

Thank you.

Yuhao

Hi, Yuhao

You can use the MinMax material in opensees shown in the following link:

good luck!

Dear Silvia
what's your idea about this script that writte in attache file? is that corroct?
i use it from this article:
1- Ramadan, T., and Ghobarah, A. (١٩٩٥), “Analytical model for shear-link behavior”. ASCE J. of Struct.
Eng ١٢١:١١, ١٥٧٤-١٥٨٠
2-Prinz, G.S.(٢٠١٠), “Using Buckling-Restrained Braces in Eccentric Configurations” Ph.D. dissertation,
Dept. of Structural Engineering, Univ. of Brigham Young

attache file is: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?3q1n3extf1zy2qb

thank you

I think it would be useful to have commands that allow the user to modify elements after the elements were defined. For instance be able to replace the nodes that were used to define a specific element, or the geometric transformation of an element.

For the test command it could exist a pflag that printed:
$norm_being_analysed $max_tol $norm_DeltaX $norm_deltaR $EnergyIncr

Currently, for example, when using EnergyIncr with pflag=1 the $norm_deltaX and $norm_deltaR are not printed. They are printed only in the case when the test reaches the max number of iterations. Similarly, with any of the Relative* tests. I think it would be good to have those values so one can have more info about convergence issues when analysing the log file.

Hi, I want to modify and edit CFSWSWP material for fiber cement board shearwall, how can I reach the source code of this material?
Thanks

Currently the zeroLength elements transform sectional response into element response by multiplying for a unitary length that depends on the base units of the model. It would be great if there would be an option to have a user-defined "unitary" length. This, maybe, goes against the basics of zero length elements, but I think it would be quite useful when one has to change to a different unit system.
