Section recorder output

Post by giuseppe.abbiati »

Good morning to all,

I'm trying to get the output of this fiber section element:

element nonlinearBeamColumn 341 484 485 $np 15 3; # Support (pulvino)

by means of the section recorder defined below:

recorder Element -file Recorder_Dynamic/Pier_9_Element_FBC3D_force_341_sec_1.txt -ele 341 section 1 force

The mine is a 3D model, but the output of the recorder is a 4 columns matrix.

I would like to see six components: N,TX,TY,MX,MY,MZ ... why do I get only 4 components?

Thanks a lot in advance

For the fiber section whose forces you are recording you will get N, My, Mz and T as output. If you wan to get Vy and Vz you need to aggregate shear force-deforamtion relationship to your section.

If you want to see all 6 forces you need to record element forces.
