SAP 2000 and OpenSees and Unloading reloading path

Post by arahmani »

Hello everybody,

In SAP 2000, there is an option by which the user is able to simulate hysteretic behavior of a material by just defining the backbone curve of that material (the mentioned option is Multi-Linear Kinematic Plasticity or Multi-Linear Takeda Plasticity. My question is that can we do the same by OpenSees? I have an array of deformation and an array of corresponding force; in other words, I have the backbone curve, and I want to simulate the unloading-reloading path? Is there any material in OpenSees for this purpose?

Thanks in advance,
Amin

There is no such generic material in OpenSees. If you want to use OpenSees you will need to find the material that may closely represent your backbone curve.
