static analysis beam with hinges

Post by giuliacavallari »

i have a 3d model of a bridge and i modeled the two columns as beam with hinges, while the deck is elastic. the connection column-deck is rigid link.
i checked that the length of the plastic hinges at i and j node does not overlap.
does anyone know why i get this problem during the static analysis?
i have this error:

Model has been defined
WARNING BandGenLinLapackSolver::solve() -LAPACK routine returned 1
WARNING NewtonRaphson::solveCurrentStep() -the LinearSysOfEqn failed in solve()
StaticAnalysis::analyze() - the Algorithm failed at iteration: 0 with domain at
load factor 0.1
OpenSees > analyze failed, returned: -3 error flag

This message indicates the problem with the model. Check constraints and geometry of your model. It may be that you do not have enough constraints or that you are having "hanging nodes" in your model.
