Joint2D element recorders

Post by fanouraki »

Hello everyone! In the documentation it is suggested that the Joint2D element has valid recorder inquires. I have tried the element and node recorders but to no success. If anyone has any suggestions, I'll happily try them out. Thank you!

vesna,
I am not sure what the right syntax is. For example, I've tried:
recorder Element -file Joint.out -time -ele 312 force (let's say 312 is the joint element)
and
recorder Node -file Joint.out -time -node 12 reaction (let's say 12 is for the central node)
In the first case, I was able to record time but no forces. In the second case, I wasn't even able to record time. I can definitely send you my files, but if you happen to know the proper syntax, I can first try it myself. I believe I have exhausted the online documentation and was not able to find one single example of how to use recorders for the Joint2D element. All I was able to find is: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... 2D_Element . If I have overlooked something, please post a link.
Thank you for taking the time to look into this.

The recorder for the force looks good (based on the command manual), but you can not record reaction at the central node the way you were doing it. You also need to have different names for different recorders.

Did you try recording response quantities of some other elements? Was it successful?
