deformation or displacement?

Post by sisa »

Hello! I have a doubt about the assignation of a force-deformation response at one section...I'm using the hysteretic material and I would like to create a shear response for a column. So I dont'understand if I have to put the values of displacement or deformation of section....from the manual it seems the deformation but I would be more sure! In this case I'm not sure how to calculate shear deformation so I would prefer to assign displacement...
thank you

Yes, in this case you have to assign deformation not displacement.
