pushover curve never decreases

Post by mehdi1995 »

hi
i have a problem,when i perform a pushover analysis on a bridge with
fiber section columns and nonlinearBeamColumn elements and steel02,the
pushover curve keeps increasing even in high load
factors and it wont stop, what's the problem?
is it because of strain hardening and ultimate strain factors?!

unless you are using PDelta or a Corotational transformation and you have large enough axial load, your load-displacement curve will keep increasing due to the strain hardening in Steel02.

So the problem is your model. Either change the transformations, change your steel material (Steel02 in a MinMax, Hysteretic, ...), or do both.
