mac error

Post by schidlow »

I am trying to get started with OpenSees on my Mac (OS 10.4.11) but I cant seem to get it running. I downloaded the mac version and the Tcl package, but when I run OpenSees it just does the following in the Terminal:
"OpenSees -- Open System For Earthquake Engineering SimulationBus error"
and quits.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to repair permissions?

I repaired permissions on my drive, but I still get the "Bus Error" when I run OpenSees or OpenSeesTK.

Any other suggestions to get this working would be appreciated?

It seems you will always get a bus error if you try to run OpenSees 2.1.0 on Mac OS X 10.4.11. Probably there is a bug in the current release of OpenSees.

If you are a beginner and want to start using OpenSees right now, download OpenSees 2.0.0. Or wait until next stable release of OpenSees is available to download.

I hope Frank will address this issue soon.

I can only find the current version (2.1.0) available for downloading, Do you know how I could get version 2.0.0.

Give me an e-mail to send you the binary files (these were compiled by Frank).
