which element can simulate the unbonded pretressing steels?

Post by liufeng19 »

I am modeling columns with unbonded prestressing steels, using nonlinear beam-column elements. Obviously, using steel layer in fiber section is not appropriate because of the unbonding and the pretressing. Is there an special element to simulate the unbonden pretressing steels in columns when the steels are not in centre? If not, what is the solution to better the simulation by made elements?

a lot of people use an additional element to represent the prestressing, they use the truss, or the corotational truss, with initial strain.
