Recorder Element globalForce

Post by giacomovincenzo »

Dear all,

if I have a SDOF system with the following equation of motion:

m*accel+c*vel+f_resisting=-m*input+fstat

(being m the mass, c the viscous damping coefficient, accel and vel the acceleration and the velocity, input the base excitation, fstat the statically applied forces and f_resist the element resisting force)

the recorder object "Recorder Element globalForce" gives to me f_resist?!!

Thanks!!!!

Giacomo

I have the same question.

The manual says:
"globalForce - element resisting force in global coordinates (does not include inertial forces)".

Does it mean the viscous damping force is excluded from the output globalForce as well?

Thanks!
