Buongiorno Silvia,
Now I have a more practical problem. I just tried to run the example in the subject, but I have this error message which is caused by the procedure DisplayModel2D.
Error: UNABLE TO ALLOCATE DISPLAY LIST
Since I did not touch anything in the example files and in the procedures, I am just wondering if those example are compatible with the new version of OS (I'm still using 1.7.5, by the way).
What should I do in order to use those procedures?!

1. upgrade OpenSees no matter what.
2. you know, i am not sure those display commands are that compatible.
3. the visualization tools have not been developed by the OpenSees teams because it was more important to develop the overall framework and the developers figured that it was better to leave visualization to visualization experts.
