Questions regarding damage recorders

I have a couple of questions regarding the damage recorders:

1. Is it possible to record the amount of energy dissipated in a nonlinearBeamColumn element with fiber sections using the new damage recorder? If so, how?

2. Is it possible to use the damage recorders with uniaxial material models different than the ones that are already in openSees (i.e. the ones I add to openSees)? If not, what I need to modify in my models so that they would be compatible with the damage recorder?
