elastomericBearingPlasticity

Hi all

1. I use Elastomeric Bearing (Plasticity) Element to construct the isolator. But the first modal value is not right. The isolator didn't deform in the shear joint in the middle of element.
2. The first modal value calculated by opensees was 1.16s, while the value was 2.76s in ETABS.
3. There are "rigidDiaphram" in my model. I wonder that the Elastomeric Bearing (Plasticity) Element can not be used in the model with rigidDiaphram.

There should not be a specific problem of using any element together with the rigiddiaphragm command. To explore further, you can develop a SDOF system in OpenSees and ETABS with the same mass and using Elastomeric Bearing element in OpenSees and the corresponding element in ETABS

I agree with Selim, the rigid diaphragm does not depend on the type of element.

See if you can make ETABS and OpenSees match for this simple problem: https://portwooddigital.com/2021/07/11/ ... aint-easy/
