MP model can not convergy

Post by SUMMERER »

Hello everyone, I would like to ask a question about convergence. I used the ReinforcingSteel model to build a bridge pier model, and the following error occurred. What do these errors mean? Looking forward to your answer!

WARNING: ReinforcingSteel::SetMP() - did not converge finding da and ao
UniaxialMaterial::setTrial() - material failed in setTrialStrain()
DispBeamColumn2d::update() - failed setTrialSectionDeformations()
Domain::update - domain failed in update
DisplacementControl::newStep - model failed to update for new dU
StaticAnalysis::analyze() - the Integrator failed at iteration: 0 with domain at load factor -41.3567
OpenSees > analyze failed, returned: -2 error flag
Trying NewtonWithLineSearch ..

You should try your analysis with a different steel model. ReinforcingSteel is known to have some issues.

Thank you very much for your answer, you are so kind! ! However, I can only use this model due to the need to consider the descending section of the reinforcement. I want to know what is the general reason for this warning? Looking forward to your answer! !
And Steel02 works well,but it does not meet my needs.Thanks again!

Try HystereticMaterial if you need a descending branch.
