large displacement large strain

Dear all,
Is it possible to perform a large displacement large strain non-linear analysis in OpenSEES? The co-rotational transformation as mentioned in the documentation is based on large displacement-small strain formulation.

Can you include that effect in your material model ?
As far as my understanding goes with OpenSees - it is strong in material modelling. So when using OpenSees always think - can I convert this phenomenon into a material model..? At least I tend to think like that - personally.

Thanks Ashok for your reply. I have not thought of including geometric non-linearity into my material model. Can you suggest of some simple examples to begin with or refer to a some problem in which the effects of geometric non-linearity has been taken into account in the material model itself.

An easy way to do both material and geometric nonlinear with frame elements is to use a "corotational mesh": https://wp.me/pbejzW-Bh

Sir, I read your post. I just wanted to ask that when you say co-rotational mesh, do you mean using multiple non-linear frame elements(force/displacement based) with geometric non-linearity set as co-rotational. Am I interpreting it correctly?
