Runing 3 dof for a 3d model

Post by jonade »

Is there a way to run a 3d model only for 3 dof? in sap2000 there is an analysis option to do this but I am not sure if it is possible in opensees. I wanted to fix the nodes in opensees to have the same effect but I am not sure that is the right way to do it.

Restricting all nodes for other dofs except the 3 dof worked for me.

Yes restricting the nodes is the correct thing to do
