contribution of the slab

Post by samearthquake »

Hi everyone,

I want to consider contribution of the slab in a building model. For this aim, I have to assume a full composite section and equivalent length for calculating beam’s moment of inertia. The Ibarra-Medina-Krawinkler model is used for beams. What should I do for modeling beam composite section in OpenSees?

Thanks so much

I guess a good start would be usign a fibre section http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... er_Section, so you can describe the section geometry and then assign the appropriate material to each fibre or patch.
