Nonprismatic section

Post by susan »

Dear all,

I wanna model a gable frame steel structure (industrial building). Could you please guide me how I can make the nonprismatic sections?

Tnx.

You can divide your element into several elements and assign different sections (or I and A depending on the element that you use) to each element. If you use enough number of elements, you can have a good enough approximation.

FYI. Also the displacement based element allows multiple sections to be input.
