Modeling a simple pendulum

Post by Lanka »

Hi

Any body know how to model a simple pendulum using opensees? I want to model change in period of harmonic motion by varying gravity (g), and keeping the length constant.

I would appreciate any idea.

Thanks.

a pendulum is an upside-down cantilever, isn't it?
you just have to apply the gravity in the opposite direction, if you are interested in axial load. the mass for the dynamics is the same, afterall, it just cares about the mass value.
