I did install both BuildingTcl and the Navigator. I had, with both, several stability problem (the navigator crashed all the time
). The BuildingTcl is more stable (thought it crashed running its own gettingstarted example 
), thought it is limited to structural analysis (I can't model soil 
).I did not install the other tools yet. I also saw the GiB tools (http://www.gidhome.com/), which require fees to be used. As anyone used this (GiB) tools? Looking at the company website I saw that you need GiB+ module to be working with OpenSees, which makes me wonder about stability once again (will the module associated with OpenSees still be up to date with the latest opensees? Will they also crashed all the time?
). GiB seems to be a good option for geotechnical modeling. But I am wondering about it's capacity to run both structural and geotechnical models (for use in SSI of shallow foundation, for example).The other option seems to be using Matlab
. As anyone made comparaison between those options (tools versus matlab)? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!Thanks for your help!
