Single Friction Pendulum Bearing Element

Post by wangjiankai »

Hi~
I want to use the "Single Friction Pendulum Bearing Element " in my bridge model. My problem is that when I start to calculate, there is always some warnings "element 1----- did not find the shear force after...".

Did you apply gravity load to your model? If there is no axial load on the element there will be no shear resistance and the element will not converge.

Yes,I did. I calculated the model under different groundmotion pattern objects. there were warnings under some objects but no warning under others.
