@fmk: I tried to run your example file form the OpenSees Dynamic API manual. I put the OpenSees application in the folder OpenSees>packages>... where the example.tcl file ant the new element TrussCPP are stored. But when I run it, OpenSees gives me the error message "WARNING could not create el...

@fmk:

Ok, got that. But how to define Kt or Kr?
Also RotSpring2D from the Script Utilities Library doesn't help much.

Is there any example?

Thanks

Add Spring

Hey everybody,

How can I add springs to my OpenSees model?
I want to add translational and rotational springs to, for example, the nodes of a simple beam.

Thanks for help!

I was thinking about implementing a new command. We want to try to implement fire load in opensees.

Also there it doesn't say where to put the *.h and the *.cpp data, so OpenSees can open it and work with it.

How to add new commands to OpenSees??

Hello, just got a short question: if I want to add new commands to OpenSees, what to do? I have to write the *.h and the *.cpp data, but where to put it, so OpenSees can open it and work with it? Sorry for this questions, but i'm just a statical engineer and not an informatic. :? Thanks Cheers, Daniel
