integer value too large to represent

Dear all: I'm trying to test the material stress-strain curve under cyclic compression-tension load. I just use Static Reversed Cyclic command file from OS official example page (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/OpenSees_Example_4._Portal_Frame) and make some adjustment based on my model....

could not invert flexibility

Dear all: I'm new to OS and try to build a simple model to test material stress-strain curve. I want to use forceBeamColumn element with fiber section to test the behavior of ConfinedConcrete01 material under cyclic compression (half cyclic). However, I always get error information as “ ForceBeamCol...

Problem in using ZeroLengthInterface2D

Hi, From the manual, it is said that "zeroLengthInterface2D is Node-to-Segment (NTS) frictional contact element used in two dimensional analysis for contact between elements. Please notice that any number of DOF (DOF>1) can be handled using this element (i.e. beam-solid, solid-solid as well as ...

number format effect

Dear all: I just encountered a problem about number format when I play with a one-bay one story frame. The script is as below: ############################################################################### wipe model BasicBuilder -ndm 2 -ndf 3 puts "model geometry" node 1 0 0 node 2 1 0 n...

Truss connection

Dear all: Hi, I want to test a simple truss frame but encountered a problem about boundary conditions and connection condition. My model is as simple as using two truss element to restrain a node in the system. The script is as below: #################################################################...

real time boundary condition update

Dear all: I'm new to OpenSees and thinking about model a rocking rectangular block rocking on the two bottom corner support. Does anybody know how to change the boundary condition according to some real-time conditions (like node displacement is positive or negative) during the analysis. For example...

compression only viscous damper

Hi,

Is anyone know if there are ways to model the compression only viscous damper in OpenSees? I try to model the rocking movement of a rigid block on the rigid foundation, and want to use a compression only damper to represent the energy dissipation mechanism once impacts happens.

Thanks
