Dear Silvia,
I couldn't find a systematic error at all; the difference in both software is random. It is kind of strange that such a simple code which seems logically correct is causing this difference in results.
Thanx for your prompt response.

Results not matching with SeismoSignal
Hi there! I have performed the elastic time history of 124 ground motions using this code; the results are seriously contrasting to Seismosignal (another software). I am very sure results of Seismosignal are right. But, I cannot find any mistake whatsoever in this code (except for the damping) but c...

Effective modal masses
Dear Silvia, Thanks for your reply. I needed it becoz, I am performing NTHA on same structure with Opensees and another software. I am getting same top displacement and different base shear with two software. If I calculate effective modal masses manually and multiply with relative mode acceleration...

Effective modal Masses
Hi Silvia,
Is there a command in Opensees to find out Effective modal masses for each mode of vibration?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Kumar,M.

Logic
Dear Silvia, First of all thanks for prompt response as always. :D It does not make too much sense to me  ; because when I use single forced based element per member the nonlinear time history works for ductilities as large as 6-8 for the given frame; and the frame also works with 4 displaceme...

Convergence Problem With NonlinearBeamColumn Element
Hi Silvia, I am performing nonlinear time history analysis of 5 storey steel frame, to different level of intensities (IDA). I developed the model initially using displacement based elements and works perfect as I compared the results with Seismostruct. When I changed the elements to Nonlinear beam ...

Envelope Drift Recorder
Hi Everybody, I am looking for a recoder that provides me maximum (+ve, -ve, or abs) drifts for the nonlinear time history. Just like envelope node recorder that gives maximum displacements. I need such option to scale the ground motions to produce a certain level of drift at any storey of the struc...

Recording Time period of structure during NTHA
hELLO eVERYbODY, I was wondering , if it is possible to record time period(s) (1st mode, 2nd mode) during the non linear time history analysis of structure. I would love  to know how the time period of my structure changes due to yielding at various location  Take Carez, Kumar, M.

Thanx
Dear silivia, First of all thanks for the prompt reply. I have one more question though, normally the output we get from recorder is stored in a file. Is it possible to store the recorder output in a variable or array so that I can use the output further to program. Actually I am trying to develop s...

Maximum displacement during Time history
Dear Frndz,
Is there any recorder available, that provides maximum displacement during the time history analysis at any given node.
Cheers

Adaptive push over and IDA
Dear frndz,
Does any of you know how to perform adaptive push over and Incremental Dynamic analysis using OpenSees.
Looking forward to your answer.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!
