For some reason, the problem went away after I installed the new visual C++ 9.0. I think the earlier C++ installation was not done properly.

I did set the include path to tcl8.4. I am using ActiveTcl 8.4.17.0.

The preprocessor _TCL84 is also there.

Any ideas?
