I built a force-based adaptive pushover algorithm finding similar troubles. Opensees gives back eigenvalues even if they are negative. Clearly when this happen, it's impossible to model a new distribution of lateral forces. I overcome this, forcing to consider eigenvalues at the previous step when t...
Be careful about having too many integration points (more than 4 or 5), especially if you have softening behavior. I usually try to limit the number of integration points to 3-5, but I've occasionally used 2 on small elements.
in effect with a degrading material - ...

sp command

Hi, I work on a simple RC frame imposing nodal displacements with sp command and, while using opensees 1.6.2.a I obtained the requested disp, with the same script running on 1.6.2.c version node seem fixed. Someone can help me? May be this problem related to changes in constraints transformation han...

compiling error

Hello, I tried compiling version 1.6.0 in visual c++.net (2003) and got the following error messages: error C2664: 'Tcl_CreateCommand' : cannot convert parameter 3 from 'int (__cdecl *)(ClientData,Tcl_Interp *,int,const char ** )' to 'Tcl_CmdProc (__cdecl *)' error C2664: 'Tcl_CreateCommand' : canno...

thanks fmk, but I need eigenvalues and eigenvecors of the deformed structure. Isn't possible to have them?

eigenvectors are 0

Hi, I work on a simple rc frame, imposing displacements with different multipleSupport load pattern to the nodes of it. Now, if I do an eigen analysis I can have eigenvalues, but eigenvectors are 0, I think because nodes are not considered free, but fixed. Is it correct? How can I solve this problem...
